The first thing you learn about homeschooling is that its not as - TopicsExpress

The first thing you learn about homeschooling is that its not as difficult to teach the basics as you expected. The second thing you learn is that kids who have the support to read and do math earlier in public school spend two or three years waiting around for everyone to catch up. So where basic fluency in reading and arithmetic is easily accomplished by the end of second grade, there is a phase of intellectual development between reading and arithmetic fluency and pre-college high school studies that is characterized mainly by neglect. Ive started doing my part to try to address this issue with child-friendly topic-based outlines intended to provide a general overview. Most people avoid giving children a general overview of main topics, but this is precisely what they need and desire for their intellectual development...a general outline on simple terms, scouring the internet for them for a few child-friendly resources (not sure about the alchemy link on this one). Putting together these outlines will soon occupy most of my serious working hours. 107-206-145-249.lightspeed.frokca.sbcglobal.net/Elements.html
