The following email was the response from the County to a resident in the Navarre area. The water floods her property due to the height of the houses around hers being higher up, and the county would have had to approve those permits for building those houses. The water runs in from their properties onto hers and also the water from the road drains right into her driveway. Does the county actually care about helping anyone? We recognize that you believe that the County somehow caused your property to flood, but the reality is that the County’s road right of way is the only property in the area that is publically owned. The vast majority of the water that is impacting your property is coming off of other private properties. We do wish that we had the resources to come pump out your property, as well as the hundreds of other flooded properties throughout the county. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources necessary to conduct this service. We suggest that you consider renting a pump and hoses if that is what you feel will aid in your recovery. Once this catastrophe is over, we do suggest also that you evaluate whether spreading dirt over your septic tank and drainfield area will help reduce or eliminate the standing water problem over this area. Respectfully submitted, Stephen Furman
