Date: 6 June, 2014 Time: 09:00 – 11:30 Venue: Chapel Tea will be served after the lecture Dr Raheb was awarded the German Media Prize and he received numerous international awards for his interfaith work towards peace in Israel-Palestine plus an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in Chicago. His latest book, Faith in the Face of Empire: The Bible through Palestinian Eyes is a challenging view of how the reality of empire shapes the context of the biblical story and the ongoing experience of Middle East conflict. It has been called “provocative and compelling” (Salim Tamari, Institute for Palestine Studies). Dr Raheb is the President of Dar al-Kalima University College in Bethlehem and the president of the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land.
