The following is a message I received about the Firehouse World - TopicsExpress

The following is a message I received about the Firehouse World Conference in January. Theyre looking for students who might be interested in helping with the conference. If you know of anyone who lives in the San Diego area, and is a future firefighter, share this with them! (theres a link below). CONFERENCE: San Diego, CA - January 25 - 29, 2015 – (see below) For the third year in a row, the great folks at Firehouse World Conference have asked me to facilitate the Future Firefighter Experience at Firehouse World in San Diego on January 28, 2015. Once I have more details about this FREE opportunity for future Firefighters, I will share them with you, and then ask you to share with anyone you may feel could benefit (Volunteers, Cadets, Reserves, Students, etc.). Related to the Future Firefighter Experience, but focusing more on the bigger picture of the entire conference, I was asked by my friend Tim Sendelbach with Firehouse Magazine if we could get a cadre of students (or Volunteers, Reserves, Cadets, anyone interested in the fire service, etc.) who could Volunteer to assist with logistics at Firehouse World (January 25-29, 2015). They are looking for up to 50 fire science students to assist with all aspects of the conference to include set-up, hands-on, registration, room monitoring, etc. Each student would be scheduled for a few shifts throughout the week and then be granted full access to attend any program or session they choose. Aside from getting their assistance and support with the conference, the goal is to provide the next generation of fire service leaders with direct access to meet and interact with active firefighters throughout the country. By recruiting more students, they can have more flexibility in scheduling and also provide them with more time to attend the conference sessions. The specific plan for the Future Firefighter Experience is to offer the attendees free access to the Expo Hall as well as a couple of training classes to get them prepared to become a Firefighter. If we can also get some assistance in the way of logistical support, that would be even better. If you think there is a way that you may be able to get some of your students, volunteers, cadets, reserves, auxiliaries, etc. (especially those locally - from the San Diego and/or Southern California area) to the conference, we would love to have them there, to assist as well as participate in the classes and other things Firehouse World has to offer. Ill know more details in the next month or so, but for now, I was hoping to see if there might be a way to get some students to assist at the Conference. If you know of anyone that may be able to assist, please share my email address (at the bottom of this email) with them and have them email me so I can create an interest list to share with the point person from Firehouse World that will be coordinating the volunteers. For more details on the classes well be offering geared towards future Firefighters, as well as the entire Future Firefighter Experience, please go to: firehouseworld/future_firefighters.php Thank you in advance for your consideration and for any assistance you may be able to offer!
