The following was an addendum I crafted to follow the rather dry text of the petition: Rather than leave this letter do all the speaking for me, I would like to add some insights. If the internet becomes segregated and the already oligarchical system begat a new system overarching it; all sense (real or illusory) of a private personal internet presence would be lost. On top of that, having what is often referred to as an internet kill switch available to a short list of mega-providers can only end in consolidation and homogenization; which the internet abhors. The internet and its appeal, thrive on diversity and accessibility. To be able to contact people from anywhere on the planet and in space, instantly, is a great luxury that is simple to access. Destroying net neutrality would deal a serious blow to freedom of expression that can rarely be found but in the arena of ideas from across the expanses far and wide. Experiencing cultures as they exist, how their individuals choose to communicate their ideas through cyberspace is part of the soul of the internet. Losing net neutrality would go a long way to put at risk the ability of the myriad people to connect and commune; thereby jeopardizing the very essence of the internet. Thank you for your time, Paul M. Naprstek
