The following was posted from a friend of mine in the Gulf Coast region of Mississippi. I have taken out names to protect the ones involved. Please, call your Congressmen, Lt Governor and Governor and tell them to stop Common Core! If you have to pay for support, bully teachers into compliance, and ignore thousands upon thousands of objecting parents, grandparents, and students; that should tell you that there is NOTHING good about Common Core! I was talking with a neighbor of mine last night about our decision to put (child) in a private school. This neighbor is a teacher for (county) schools. Anyhow, I could tell she was somewhat, uncomfortable with the conversation.. So I decided to just stop talking about it. Then she dropped the bomb, so to speak. She has been looking around at several private schools for her daughter, as well, but the principal at her school threatened to fire her if she pulled her child out of the district. The principal informed her that she has to absolutely, 100% promote the common core-as being the BEST- or she will be released from her teaching duties. I have heard of school districts bullying their teachers about the common core, but I never really thought it was happening here. Wake up, America...it starts here! #stopcommoncore
