The goal as a student of anything is to need to be corrected once. As an artist, I demand, and never receive, perfection. But you only learn as a student through your mistakes. I cant imagine doing that as an actor well at all haha. This is the SVU casting director talking about Amanda Seyfried during an audition. She auditioned and my producer was concerned because the character has a turn where you realize she’s protecting her abuser and he didn’t believe the turn. So I ran after Amanda in the hallway, gave her the note before she came back in, and she got the role. To me, she was famous from day one.
