The great news as promised. The Tim Hortons mama and her babies are reunited! As you may be following the story here on Facebook, Tabitha Philips Doody and Gina Olivo McPherson have been trying to reunite mama and babies for a week now and beginning to lose hope. Mama was safe but the whereabouts of the kittens remained unknown. Meanwhile, we had a call from Mark Levesque of Caribou who found 5 orphan kittens and needed to bring them to HHPR. We did not make the connection. Today, HHPR volunteer Heidi Clark and her daughters came to transport some feral kittens from foster care to the adoption center and then do cat care chores. She saw poor mama crying and asked about her story. We told her that we feared the babies were lost because it had been 7 days now. Heidi continued on to the shelter where Mark Levesque came to bring those 5 orphan kittens. Conversation led to connecting the dots…. and wow! He brought the kittens right to the foster home and it was obvious to all that these were the missing babies. Mamas cries turned to contented grunts as she busily cleaned them and checked them out. The babies were excited - climbing and meowing. Mark Levesque and his daughter told us how they waited for mama to return but when she didnt they took the kittens to feed and protect them. Even their dog helped by cuddling and cleaning them! Mama tried to show them where to find her milk but they were too excited. After all the people left and things quieted down, the babies found mamas milk. They are now happily cuddled together. Another community effort - with a bit of help from our guardian angels!
