The haj season is fast approaching (this years raya qurban falls on sunday, Oct 5). in a month or so, pilgrims from the world over will start arriving in the Holy Land. given the human mass, spread of disease is inevitable. in the past it was just the usual cough & cold.. the wheezing and sneezing, fever and all.. almost every pilgrim had fallen prey to this (we certainly did, and didnt recover until we came home more than a month later). but now there is an outbreak of the dreaded ebola in africa and the arabian peninsular isnt spared. saudi arabia has reported cases and this is truly a cause for alarm. ebola is, almost always, fatal. to say i am worried for the lives of those pilgrims is to put it very mildly. to fellow malaysians going on pilgrimage this year, my prayers are with you.. may you be under His protection and grace always.
