The heart of the Micheal Brown issue is that black crime and white - TopicsExpress

The heart of the Micheal Brown issue is that black crime and white crime, even if the same crime is committed, rarely share the same outcome. Young black males are unfairly targeted by police. That is fact. That is wrong. There is not doubt about it. However, evidence shows the Micheal Brown did commit strong arm robbery (not just theft/shoplifting) and then tried to assault a cop. I didnt want to believe that he tried to assault a cop but the autopsy reports show it, and the witnesses almost all described that happening. I am sad to find out these facts are now coming to light since it discredits arguments about racial inequality in this case. The problem is racial inequality DOES exist. Oppression DOES exists from Ferguson to Palestine. However, we picked the wrong poster child for the movement against modern racial inequality. All this national attention and unfortunately, when it comes down to it, we picked the wrong guy. That sucks and its hard to take it back. The only way to fix this and keep the momentum is by making a conscious effort to shift the focus from the PERSON to the PROBLEM. Thats just my opinion ;)
