The history of discoveries of icy worlds in the fringes of our solar system - trans-Neptunian space. In 1930, Pluto was the first such world discovered; it remained the only known trans-Neptunian object until the early 1990s, when the discovery of 1992 QB1 introduced us to the rest of the Kuiper Belt. This animation illustrates the approximate relative sizes and the true orbital motion of all known trans-Neptunian objects with average orbital distances (semi-major axes) greater than Neptunes. The objects are revealed on the date of their discovery. Data extracted from the Minor Planet Center database. vimeo/96874127
