The hospital here in Bonners Ferry, ID is definitely an organization that does not show any compassion to those who are less fortunate financially. Why do I say this? Here is why... my mom, before she passed last Sunday, applied for the charity program with all of the medical organizations she owed money to. Bonner Hospital, Kootenai Medical from CdA and Providence all wrote her entire bill off right away (we are talking several thousands of dollars). This is due to the fact that my mom only survived on around $900 of social security a month. BUT... the local hospital in BF refused to help in any way. Now, after contacting them, they were happy to assign the pending bill to my wife and I. I would say more but it would not be kind nor family rated. I hope the hospital here in BF gets new leadership that has at least an ounce of compassion.
