The huge credibility gap between what they preach and what they - TopicsExpress

The huge credibility gap between what they preach and what they practice, our rulers both past and present have made themselves the personification of contradiction. They have no qualms when they lecture the public to adopt the simplest way of life in the style of the Holy Prophet and the other icons of Islam (his companions) while the reverse is true of their own lives. Not to speak of them, even their children make sure that they transcend the opulent life-styles of the Mughal princes at the cost of teeming millions of Pakistanis living below the poverty line always haunted by the spectre of hunger as to what they will provide their children for next meal. In this murky backdrop, the sanctity of the hypocritical message of our rulers on the sacred occasions like Milad e Nabi and the likes, is nothing more than an empty ritual without any substance as they themselves along with every single individual of their family and relatives are round the clock busy raking it in every which way. With their hypocrisy at its peak their message to the public - of leading a simple life on the lines of the Prophet (SAW)- is bound to be lost in public cynicism. You will teach people more effectively by being a good example than you will by hypocritically telling them what to do (example is better than precept).
