The idea of "SWARAJ" is certainly possible. Switzerland and many - TopicsExpress

The idea of "SWARAJ" is certainly possible. Switzerland and many other developed countries are fine example of "SWARAJ". A single person is not going to rule 130 crore people of India. The power has to be distributed to common people who are still struggling for basic amenities as you mentioned "830 million people live on Rs 20 day, 600 million with no access to a toilet, 400 million who cannot read or write, 300 million who cannot visit a hospital without pawning themselves". Is it not ironical that in a country where people are suffering from all these deprivations, our parliamentarians are making laws sitting in their airconditioned chambers and that too are applicable to a wide range of people without knowing their local problems. This cruel reality is still privailing in our country, and the law has to be framed in parliament but with the consent of people, in the favour of people and not in the favour of politicians. Vineet ji, people of our country have different problems and have different solutions because of our geographical and economical diversities. The problems of a villege will be different from those of a city. For example, in a city development funds are released, MLA or councilor does not ask people of their priorities, people may be facing problem of street lights but a well working drainage system is demolished and the same drainage system is made again without bothering that people actually dont want that, hence that fund which have been used unproductively could have been used effectively with the consent of people residing there, this is the model of "SWARAJ". Now let us take an example of a village. The funds are released for development and they are tied funds (the funds which can be used for some specific purpose only) suppose 1 lac is for food grain storage purpose, but the villege does not produce much grains, it needs irrigation, so technically this fund has to be used for irrigation and not for making a godown. Now you see the problems and solutions are different from place to place and village to village. Let the people decide what are the priorities. The youth of village is moving to cities for employment, this problem can be solved be establishing a small scale industry with that fund and employment can be provided there itself. which will inturn make the whole village prosper. This is the model of "SWARAJ"
