The importance of Republican victories can be reduced to one simple assertion, Republicans/Conservatives scare easier. After six years of horror stories (death camps, RFID chips, FEMA camps, Muslim takeovers and gun confiscations) the conservative base is particularly motivated. That and the fact that younger voters and this mysterious Hispanic voter demographic tend not to show up in midterms. Just my opinion, but in the last 6 years youd be hard pressed to cite any Republican alternative to Obamacare/immigration reform/IRS reform, etc... Its all Obama is the bogeyman scare tactics.
