The initial COA report is a 462 page testament of blatant corruption and injustice. Mahirap lunukin…. Please keep each other in the loop and work in clusters. This will be a convergence of people like you and I, from various backgrounds & sectors overlapping through common friends & united by a common goal. Let’s also invite others to join. There are more than 100M Filipinos! We should be more than a million and the protest should not only be in Luneta! Other areas should also hold their own citizens’ assembly! Below is a brief attempt to consolidate thoughts and insights about the protest preparations: Rage Against Pork Citizens’ Assembly in Luneta on August 26, 2013 Main Message: We demand justice. Hold all corrupt officials and their cohorts accountable for the PDAF Scam and all types of corruption. Sub messages: • There could be two tracks: In the immediate, address the pork issue. This includes litigation and process against legislators and Napoles and their web of scheming and deceitful conspirators. Second, institutionalisation of accountable governance to fight patronage politics. What are we demanding? • Justice! Hold those responsible accountable, get them behind bars so no one will dare follow in their footsteps anymore and sequester every last bit of property and centavo they stole from us to buy lavish houses, cars and throw out of this world social climber parties. This is not just about Napoles, the politicos but all those who are dipping into the country’s coffers and stealing us blind. We need a transformative but peaceful revolution. Possible ways forward after the protest: • All Filipinos to commit to active citizenship in both the small and big issues. Let’s not wait for thieves to steal billions before we protest. • Strengthen governance institutions, test the system of transparency and accountability. Call for immediate reforms. • Support COA and DOJ who didn’t get much support from the government for doing their job and for exposing this scam. Instead, they are now receiving death threats. • If worst come to worst, do a tax boycott? (This is just my personal opinion and something I also need to study further). Some suggested tasking: What Recommended Links/People Suggestion from my FB link Please sign up here Mass education to capture all ABCDE classes (Includes unpacking the issue in layperson’s language.
