The killer-Rough draft Chapter 1 Her Death Its weird for once i want to do things i have never wanted to do before.Its like i want to be different it all started after Lilliana Fischer my best friend got killed. Yesterday they found her body at the chehalis river,i wanted to scream and cry out her name but i couldnt,i couldnt even move. I stood there frozen,stiff as they pulled her cold bloody body out of the river. It was the worst feeling imaginable,she used to tell me we were not scared of death only that no one shall know our absence.But everyone noticed hers she was a ten year old sweet friendly girl who was suposed to graduate college with honors and have a long life but instead died in vain.Anyways while they were pulling her body out of the river i noticed two things: First off, She blinked not once but twice.And second She had some sort of tattoo or brand on her hip. i know its probobly nothing and i probably imagined that tattoo and thought she blinked because of the pain i was in but i still want to make sure its not evidence before i discard it from my memory.So tomorow after school im going to the town morgue. My mom told me not to worry but she doesnt understand that i need to be worrying. Lilly was my best friend i loved her i just dont understand why it wasnt me, Katherine mason a small town farm girl who has five brothers John, Charlie,Jack,Clyde and Damon and four sisters Macy,Bonnie,Johanna,and Bella who are older than me. Katy! I could hear my mom calling my name. Yeah mom. I replied. Its time for church are you ready? Yeah im coming. As we rode past the long fields i wished Lilly was with us, she always rode with us. As we pulled up to the church house i seen the fischers waiting for us like usual when we had Lilly but this time we didnt so i didnt really understand. I finally understood when Mrs. Fischer pulled out a mop head doll and a old raggedy anne doll. Lilly told her mother to give the two dolls to me if anything happened. When Mrs. Fischer handed the dolls to me i grabbed them and it felt like Lilly was with us.I could see her brunette braids bobbing back and forth in a swaying motion her dark blue eyes calm. Suddenly my mother told me to join my siblings inside. When i entered the choir was singing Ive got that joy it was my favorite church song to sing.Me and my family sat down in the front row like usual. When preacher Jake started talking we all listened he started talking about the death of Lilly and had everyone come up to take a piece of bread and a glass of grape juice.After, we sat back down and listened to the rest of the sesion. Before we left Mrs. Fischer talked to my mom about Lillys funeral it was next week on wednesday at three. Mom said we would be there at two so me and my siblings could help set up the funeral. Today i am going to the town morgue to see what the deal is with seeing that tattoo and why i thought she blinked. Maybe it was because of being in shock.Mom!I screamed.What Katy?Can you drop me off at the town Morgue today?Why?Cause i need to see about Lilly before her funeral.Okay but im not leaving you there by yourself.Okay thanks mom.Your welcome she hollered back.I slid on my black shorts and my old navy sweater over my You mad bro t-shirt. Chapter 2 Deception Today is my first day back to school im in Mrs.Waxners class she was told to be the best teacher in my school but i think they were wrong because she seemed uptight she was nice other than that she had us each sign a rock it was our class spirit rock. When me and Dana went to go sit at the last table in lunch Missy Rockwell stopped us she explained that losers like us had to sit by the trashcans. Me and Dana tried to push our way through but Missy pushed us down and our lunch splashed all over ourselves we tried to kick her but she kicked back i couldnt breathe finally princapal Fredman grabbed Missy and held her back while Mrs. Waxner helped me and Dana up. Mr. Fredman told Missy she had suspension for a month. He walked her down to the office and called her mom.Me and Dana got a new lunch and sat down at our table. Dana asked where Lilly was at you havent heard? i asked. Heard what? She asked. Lilly is dead. I mumbled. What!Danas voice was filled with sorrow and pain.She started to weep she ran to the bathroom.That was the last time i seen her that day. When i got home i ran upstairs to my room and started on my math and languange arts home work. Suddenly Bella came upstairs and tickled me under my armpits till i was giggling on the floor she told me we were going to go to the movie theater. I slipped on my purple tube top with my navy blue worn out jeans.When i was done i raced downstairs and looked in the usually filled living room and seen that it was empty.I walked outside and seen that mom, Bella, Johanna, Macy and Bonnie were out in the car. When i got in the car mom told me we were going to see the movie Snow white and the seven dwarfs. I got kind of upset because that was Lillys favorite movie.We always watched it in her room. She loved cartoons especially ones about a prince and princess who lived happily ever after together. Honestly i loved books about an evil witch and a princess who was locked away in a castle and a brave prince will rescue her. When we got to the theater i seen Dana and her family.Dana aproached me and quietly said Im sorry i left you at the table alone and i just want you to know i am truly sorry about Lilly. She was my friend too. I told your mother to meet me and my parents here so we could watch her favorite movie and that maybe it will cheer you up.Girls my mother whispered the movie is starting. Ok mom were coming. While i was waching the movie i got to thinking about my dad this is what we did when he died. He was murdered by a man named Joshoua F. Steel. He killed my dad while me my mom and siblings were in our room Josh broke in, my dad grabbed a baseball bat and went into the living room where my dad was stabbed in the vertibrae. When the movie was over Dana gave me a hug an slid a note in my back pocket. She whispered dont open it till you get home. When me and my sisters got home i ran up to my room and closed the door then swiftly grabbed the note it read: Meet me tonight at Borst park 9:00 right by the lake. Be there i have a plan. P.s. Bring a weeks worth of camping stuff. Sincerely,Dana xoxox I couldnt belive my eyes Dana wanted to run away! When we were younger i always tried to get her to run away with me and Lilly but she got homesick and we went home before our parents noticed our absence. I grabbed my back pack and filled it with clothes i grabbed a fold up tent and camping food. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs so i quickly put all of the items under my bed. As i was standing up my mom came in and asked why i was on the floor Push ups i quickly answered. Are you sure? Quiestioned my mother. Yes im positive. Okay well dinner is ready get washed up we are having hamburgers. Okay mom ill be right down. Oh and Katy when your done eating i want you to go milk Miss Besy she is sagging.Okay. When i got cleaned up i ran downstairs and ate dinner, then of course i milked Miss Besy.She was sagging mama was right about that she gave me a buckets worth of milk and half a bucket of cream. When i came back inside of the house my mother told me to can the milk and cream tomorrow so i could sell it for two percent milk. Of course i knew i woldnt be here tomorrow but i still agreed to do it. My mother was impatiant about me learning how to take care of our farm she knew that i always wanted to take over our farm and run it all by myself but somehow i never got to.Katy, yeah ma i love you good night good night mom. When i got up to my room i checked the clock it was only seven forty five i had exactly an hour and fifteen minuets left till i was gone. The time went by fast i was reading my favorite book, The Hunger Games. Finally it was time to go i grabbed my gear and started out the door when i heard a noise it didnt sound like mama or anyone i knew then finally i seen a gun. It was in a strange mans pocket.He was right outside mamas room. I slowly crept into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. I slid closer to the strange man and without thinking twice snatched the gun out of the mans pocket. He was startled just like me he tried to grab me but i screamed my mother came running out of her room she jumped on the mans back and pinned him down just then all my siblings came out of their rooms and helped mama. Charlie grabbed some rope from underneath the sink and hogtied the man. How did you know he was here Katy? I......Got up to get a drink of water and heard some noise so i grabbed a knife and seen his gun so i grabbed it and screamed.Oh Katy come here my mother said in a calming tone. Honny do you know how brave that was i mean i could of died but you stopped that from happening. Bella can you call 911 please. Yes mother she replied, Soon after that the cops arrived and took him away. Chapter 3 Love after death Today is Lillys funeral me ma and my sisters are going early my brothers though are too busy playing a stupid game on their x-box 360 to come and help setup. When we arrived at borst park we seen Mrs. Fischer outside waving to us. She told Bella and Johanna they could help set up chairs and that me Bonnie and Macy we could help put the food out on the tables. When we were done it was a quarter till three and we were all silently still in our seats. Finally my brothers arrived at two forty five to my surprise they were all wearing tuxedos that mom and dad picked out for them for mom and dads wedding.Their hair was combed back too this must of taken almost a half an hour. They quietly walked over to where we were sitting and sat down. Mom commented them on their looks. Soon the ceramony started. Preacher Jake started, Lilliana Marie Fischer was a decent ten year old girl with a dream she wanted to grow up and have two children a boy and a girl. On March 13, 2014 a murdurer ended all of her dreams, i was told she has died from a hit on the head with a rock. Our sheriff Mr. Mike Odonald will soon run some prints and find out who this monster of a person did this. Now will you all bow your heads and pray with me, God please watch over Lilliana while she is with you up in Heaven and tell her that she is dearly missed down on earth amen. Mr. and Mrs. Fischer is there anything you would like to say? Yes piped up Mr. Fischer he slowly went up to Preacher Jake and commented that Lilly was a child with straight as for grades she had a brother and a sister both who were younger than her who she loved dearly. I can tell you all this much though who ever did this to my baby girl will have a death sentence so he will never kill another baby again. After that Mr. Fischer walked back to his seat and sat down.After that Jake asked if anyone else wanted to share i raised my hand as high as i could and stepped up to talk.I started out with the fact that Lilly was my best friend and no one would ever replace the hole that was left in my heart. Lilly should not have died on March 13,2014 it was all my fault i was the one that wouldnt walk home with her and who said that i didnt want to walk to the park its all my fault i screamed and ran out the door crying. My mom ran after me and stopped me at the car. She tried to calm me down but it was too late i was hyperventalating.I wascrying and trying to breathe at the same time then i fainted.I woke up in a hospital with an I.V. in my arm.My mom rushed over to me and called the nurse into the room. She checked my vitals and drew some of my blood. Mrs. Mason Katherine is going to have stay here over night so we can run some tests. Okay but can i have someone like a nurse or doctor in her room tonight to watch her? Yes mam but you need to talk to the front desk first. Okay bye honny i will see you in the morning i love you. Okay, Wait mom Yes Katy. What about a hug and kiss? Oh how could i forget. She kissed my forehead and hugged me then left. The doctor came in and sat down in a chair right next to me. I asked for his name so he told me Timothy Reyes. Well Mr. Reyes im Katherine Mason.Nice to meet you Ms. Mason and nice to meet you Mr. Reyes i said cheerfully. I fell asleep quick. When i woke up the next morning my heart hurt it felt the same when i realized Lilly was missing. Well next thing i know is that my mom comes in with tears in her eyes finally she burst out Danas missing. My heart stopped my stomach churned i couldnt breath. Finally i blurted out please say your kidding right. Honny i wish i were. No!!!!!! I screamed i tried to hold back the tears but they broke free and slid down my pale cheeks. I couldnt bear it, not again.
