The largest military invasion in history happened 70 years ago today. June 6, 1944. D-Day. The next largest was in 1971. Know what happened? Since it was part of the Vietnam War, not many do. The operation was called Lam Son 719. On February 8, 1971, we attacked NVA positions on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos utilizing U.S. aircraft and South Vietnamese troops. It did not turn out as well as D-Day. A salute to all who participated in D-Day. Otherwise, we may be speaking German.
