The last five days of Mindful May have been awesome and transformational for me personally. I am now able to be more intentional and deliberate about paying attention to present moment experiences, with openness, curiosity and a willingness to be with what is. In the past I used to be multi-tasking all the time, but now Im committed to being mindful in action by doing one task at a time. My new motto: less is more, slow is beautiful, simplicity is bliss. Eg: When I am checking email, I turn off all my other browsers. Check one email then respond, delete or file it for future reference. Open the next one. Notice how I feel, and what sensations come up around certain email. Feel and release. Im starting to feel that mindfulness doesnt have to be difficult. Yes it does take practice, as our mind never sits still, but its worth it because the present moment is the only time we can see, hear, smell, taste, touch and communicate. And if you find your mind wandering around, simply return your attention to the task at hand. When was the last time you stopped, looked around and savoured the moment? If you take a real hard look at your surroundings and be mindful, you will start to realize the beauty of the little things. I am so thankful that I am exactly where I am right now :) xxx
