The last three months have seen an old corrugated tin pig barn here at An Teach Saor (Gaeilge for The Free House) be transformed into our free event space, The Happy Pig! We cannot finish the interiors until the spring (as it needs to dry out), but as youll see below, it is now well on its way to being of service to the world – free courses, food, drink, music, story-telling, poetry, retreat, dancing, table tennis, hanging out, accommodation (amongst much else) for our local and wider communities. For those of you looking to live mortgage-free lives, and live in a building that is both beautiful and healthy, natural building is the way forward. This cost a fraction of the cost of a conventional build. Here are some pictures (inc. one of what it looked like 3 months ago) that we took along the way, which give you a sense of the techniques involved and the materials used. And the wonderful people involved.
