The latest adventure-installation of Beyond Toddlerdome: The Toddlering.... We zoom in on the scene: Critter at play, naked as the day he was born, in his room. He scampers out to the living room to announce his nakedness, and retreats to the privacy of his own space, a world in which naked discovery is perfectly acceptable and boundaries are respected. He also announces an impending poopy on the horizon... [suspenseful violins] His room grows suspiciously quiet....too quiet.... He then scampers off to the bathroom, announcing his further poopy work to be completed in collusion with an unsuspecting potty. We parents grow ashen and hastily run to the sanctity of the Coven of the Mysterious Poopy. We search, behind his desk, his rocking chair (the favorite pooping spot), and realize we are dealing with a Defcon 5 situation as the CHILD WAS NAKED.... As I walk back towards the door of the bedroom, my foot comes into contact with something soft....something clay-like in viscosity, and creepily warm....a shriek is emitted from my horrified face.... I lift up the rug to discover the horror....the horror.... On a plus side, seltzer and laundry detergent will get ANYTHING out. ANYTHING.
