The lesson we need to learn from the Christs sermon on the Last Judgment is that we not only need to offer charity for the poor and oppressed, but we must have solidarity with them, and we must see Christ Himself in the poor. This cannot be merely sentiment, but must be manifest in our values and in our actions. We must show our love for those in need not only in the deeds of charity we perform indvidually in our personal lives, but in the work we do in our society for social justice.
