The man who has knowledge of how to do good and does not do it, to - TopicsExpress

The man who has knowledge of how to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (BBE James 4:17) This truth is told in the context of boastful living and seeking ones own gain apart from the will of God, and living in despising judgement over fellow believers who are trying to follow Christ is a deep thing to consider. We typically find people reading these passages out of context, especially those who feel critical of other Christians who make them feel judged because of holy living and teaching, and their lack thereof. When in fact it is addressed to the one who is living in sin and for self, not to the ones who live rightly before God and by doing so bring light into the darkness people living apart from the Spirit. Most people are scapegoats on their own sins when they are exposed and dont want any correction or admonition given to them ever. I know we all do it. When it happens, rather than seeking God and understanding his Holy Spirit convictions, they turn against the messenger, Gods prophets who speak the truths and attack and judge them as being mean or judging, when in fact we are all called to encourage one another in righteousness and to live in holiness. Pointing out obvious sins for the benefit of helping believers walk in light, is not condeming judgment , we were told by Christ and his apostles to not judge a Believers heart, but to make fair judgments of anti-Christ behaviours, in grace and for loving benefit. He said by their fruit you will know my disciples. So by what people say and do we always must evaluate if it is godly or not and either encourage or discourage such actions. But when someone trys to judge the intents of a persons heart, they have crossed the line into Gods sacred rights alone. He alone can do that. Not us. Even so in love we must follow Christ and seek good judgments in our lives so as to avoid sins and live to him in righteousness and lead others to do likewise, including doing the hard things we know we should do, no matter the sacrifice, even if that is lovingly talking to someone about something that is living or promoting sinfulness. We belong to God, not the world. Sometimes we sin by not speaking up when we should, and thus by our quietness allow sin to go unchecked and seemingly approved and grow into a huge destroying problem around us. Like Aaron who never called his own boys on the carpet for their disobedience to God in their work, thus costing him dearly with both of them being stuck dead by God with their unholy disobedient offerings. He should have led and spoke up.
