The message on kidd kraddick touched my heart. Everyone that knows me, knows Im loud, opinionated, ans very head strong. I grew up with two parents who showed me a great example of what love should look like. I grew up privileged. What people DONT KNOW, is that I was in an abusive relationship. Although I dont ever put my personal business out on social media, I feel it necessary to share my story. I never understood when a woman would complain about being abused yet stay, and felt no sympathy. I said the first time a man disrespected me or touched me, hed be gone and In jail. After 4 years, it wasnt quite that simple to follow through with that threat... being ashamed or scared are major factors. ABUSE does mask itself as LOVE and it can happen to ANYONE. Its hard to see your worth and your beauty when you are being told and shown by someone you love the opposite. All I can say, is I prayed for strength and wisdom and left. Soon after I got myself back in church and taught myself to love ME again. I then realized, I was one of those women I didnt pity before. It was scary leaving but the outcome was, I married my prince. Moral: YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE TREATED. If you are related to or friends with someone suffering, try to be supportive in tough times even if you dont understand it. You are loved and if you hold out, the right man will present himself. Im living proof you can overcome it. Do it for yourself, to show yourself you are strong. Others will recognize it and support you. Just thought if I could inspire just ONE of you...sharing my demons is totally worth it.
