The month of November in Pakistan is celebrated as the month of Iqbal, but mere celebrating an event never justify the cause for which Iqbal lived his entire life. Iqbal opened his eyes(internal and external) in a time when the Muslim ummah was passing through very hard times. almost the entire ummah was under colonial rule and from the very beginning Iqbal wanted the ummah to get out of that turmoil and retain its lost glory. Iqbal strived for this revival at different levels rather at every level and aspect of life(political, intellectual and religious). His every work, either poetic or pros contains the same message. Iqbal was of the opinion that Muslim Renaissance should base upon a strong conviction regarding that Islam will regain its power, and at that time of distress Iqbal said in Bang e Daraa: Aasmaan ho ga sehar ky noor sy Aaena posh Aur zulmat raat ki semaab paa ho jae gi Phir dilun ko yaad Aa jae ga paighaam e sujood Phir jabeen Khak e Haram sy Aashna ho jae gi Shab e Gurezan hogi Aakhir jalwa e khursheed sy Ye Chaman mamoor hoga naghma e Tawheed sy Iqbal at one point said: The powers which are operating in the world today, majority of them are working against Islam but I have a firm believe in the Quranic verse To Establish this religion over all other prevailing systems and the end will be with the victory of Isam over every other power(Guftaar e Iqbal, Page:53) Iqbal was of the opinion that Character is the invisible force which determines the destination of nations(Stray Reflection: Iqbal personal Diary, Page 79) Iqbal was very critical and against the impractical behavior of the so called Traditional Scholars of religion he said in Aarmaghan e Hijaz: Nikal kar Khaankahun sy Aada kar Rasm e Shabiri Ky Rasm e Khanqahi hai faqat aando o Dil geri He also wanted that the youth should rely upon and should know their religious basses and their Past glory and he was strictly against the westernization of Muslim youth Apni Milat per Qiyas Aqwam e Maghrib sy na Kar Khas hai Tarqeeb mei Qaum e Rasool e Hashmi He commented on the western civilization in these words in his Reconstruction of Religious Thought: Europe today is the greatest hindrance in the way of Mans ethical advancement(page:142) WAQT E FURSAT HAI KAHAN KAAM ABHI BAQI HAI NOOR E TAWHEED KA ITMAAM ABHI BAQI HAI
