The moon in her crescent looks as if she cradles a child given to her too soon a baby ripped from mortal life before his time the sea of tears of his people that fall and mourn the young death she pulls towards her and washes over us instead waves of hope, that this too shall pass. On nights much like this we’d once looked up to her fellow heavenly being to lead us to freedom, and now we ask that she carry us into true peace towards true justice, a true ending of our sorrow, of our pain, of our suffering. "Never again may you cradle a child given to you too soon, never again need you sway our bitter tears."
