The most beautiful interaction happened to me yesterday. i am spending a month helping the Ann Wigmore Institute and also caring for my health. i was juicing my wheatgrass when 2 people went in to the walk-in cooler unit that is next to the juicing station here. One of them i knew because he works here, the other i did not recognize. i smiled at them both and said, Hola! They both smiled and returned the greeting. The one i did not recognize started talking to me in Spanish and i had to apologize that i do not speak Spanish hardly at all, Lociento, habla Espanõl poco, poco! He smiled and said, Well, me little English. My name is Leo. What is your name? im Julia. Mucho Gusto, nice to meet you Leo. We continued talking in our faltering way and then he looks at me and says, Are you Julia BUTTERFLY? i said, Yes, i am. How did you know? Did you hear i was here? He then went on to tell me that he was an activist involved in the movement to stop the US Navy from using Vieques as a bombing and testing site. He then went on to tell me that after reading my book, he said a prayer/made a wish that he would be able to live as an organic farmer some day, and now he is one of the organic farmers for the Institute!! i placed my hands on my heart and bowed to him, and told him Thank You for his activism and his sacrifice. He placed his hands on his heart and returned the gratitude. Then we hugged, heart to heart. Leo (short for Leonardo) has the most beautiful eyes, gorgeous blue, windows where his heart shines brilliantly through. Thank You Leo for gifting me with your beautiful heart energy, thank you for your efforts and your sacrifice on behalf of Vieques, and thanks to everyone who gave so much of themselves to eventually force the US Navy out and begin the slow, healing process for a place so beautiful on so many levels.
