The most important element of civil disobedience is the part where YOU GET ARRESTED. You go out and do something that SHOULD BE perfectly legal, but is not. And then the authorities show up and arrest you, demonstrating that the law is unjust and showcasing the abuse of power (not abusive power, but the transcription error is understandable). This encourages lawmakers to change the law, and - failing that - citizens to demand lawmakers who will. If you just riot, and do all kinds of illegal disruptive shit, and make the biggest noise you can make - your point is lost. Nobody wants to change the laws against throwing bricks through windows and setting shit on fire. You must ONLY break the laws you are protesting as unjust.
