The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. ~Theodore Hesburgh I had the privilege of spending much of the day with my Dad today, waiting for my Mom to get out of surgery. We talked about life, ate lunch while a man played Clair de Lune on a grand piano, and then talked and waited some more. Eventually we checked in at the nurses station where they asked if they could help us. He said they told me my bride would be here... The nurses of course melted, and showed us her room. After much ado, Mom was finally comfortable enough to fall asleep. I looked over, and Dad was too. Sitting upright, leaning on his hand. He had been up since 3am. My Dad is the epitome of a gentleman. I am fortunate and blessed to have him for a father, friend, and ally. Happy birthday Dad. Sorry for all the sap 😉 I love you.
