The most important thing about the grieving process: Yes, there - TopicsExpress

The most important thing about the grieving process: Yes, there are 5 phases, but they do not follow a sequence. You weave through them all, sometimes experiencing all five simultaneously. There is no way to finish one stage and move on to the next. When the sorrow of losing someone so dear is upon you, it is upon you permanently. You can still experience joy, and most importantly, the joy of having known and loved them. But one day, out of the blue, you will have an intense urge to punch a hole in your wall, and all you can do (shy of punching a hole in your wall) is tell yourself, Yup. Theres that anger phase. The acceptance phase is a welcome calm, but there is a larger acceptance to realize than accepting the fact of their passing; you must accept that you will never stop grieving. Only then can you really carry on with your life.
