The motto of free press has been to be anti establishment - TopicsExpress

The motto of free press has been to be anti establishment irrespective of its performance. Now in this age of expensive oxygen for survival the press depends on business houses and trps so if these channels too start to subscribe to the policies of the government for their advancements the press will have to change its stance. English language press keeps itself aloof from the main stream because of its elitist bias but now it is become visible that it has to fall in line with the reality and the reporting of the recent past (Namos US visit) have shown it with distinction. Vinod Mehta has been a fierce critic of Hindi RSS and Modi all throughout his career but I have noticed a marked shift in his submissions of current affairs specially concerning Modi. The TOI has also been writing differently on Modi now. The article is a clear apology wrapped in the obstinacy of a incorrigible elite.
