The new PNG Govt National Strategy 2010 - 2013, in which it calls for RESPONSIBLE SUSTAINABLE GREEN DEVELOPMENT led by the Hon. Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Hon. Charles Abel who is championing it at political and policy level is an excellent one ... it is supported whole-heartedly by the NGO/CSO Sector in PNG including the PNG Ecoforestry Forum Members. We the NGOs/CSOs have been practising and implementing responsible Sustainable Green Development Programmes and Proejcts in our work with rural communities for decades....and the call by the Minister for PARTNERSHIP with CSOs @ UPNG in August is welcomed. BUT .... Hon. Minister , TELL the Prime MInister Hon.Peter ONeil to stand by his words on his Report to Parliament on the SABL COI Report that Government will CANCEL ALL THE SABLs, ...Unlease the Land Leases, Untitle the Titles, and hand the Customary Lands back to the people. The SABL is going totally in the Opposite Direction to the Responsible Sustainable Green Development Strategy and it aGovernment Sponsored action of daylight stealing of customary land taken away for 3-4 generations of a PNG family and placing the land in the hands of Foreign Asians exploiters and environment destroyers. Please KILL the SABLs and Leave the Trees Standing, as they keep the rivers and streams flowing, as they provide homes, food and fruits for the animals, birds adn insects and they provide sanctuary for our ancestors spirits, provide our identity, names and legends and many more. If nothing is done now on the SABL issue,... the Predictions are that Vision 2050 Targets and Milestones and all the Strategies of Government ....will reverse back and we will go into DEEP POVERTY. Even the LNG Revenue will not Save this Nation and the worse Afffected will be the people whose Land the Government Sponsored by Giving 99 Years Leases and Titles to Foreigners.
