The new Veronicas video for the song If you love someone is worth watching. The lyrics are not overtly political, but the video imagery is all about making a revolution against systemic corruption and prominently features the Sea Shepherd flag and footage. The clip opens with protest footage after using a Jimmy Hendrix quote: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. Lots of signs flash by like: You dont have to be an activist to want to make change; Corruption; The duty of youth is to challenge corruption (Kurt Cobain); Be kinder; Only Love and Understanding can conquer fear; Bullying; Hunger; War; Inequality; Education is our most important weapon; It takes no compromise to give people their rights; Whoever controls the media, the images, controls the culture; Stand up for what you believe; and Find alternative media. Inserted in the footage is an interesting clip about the state use of violence and its legitimacy to suppress dissent. And the omniprescience of a regime of surveillance.
