The new buzz word lately is Probiotics. Several people have been asking my opinion about them. First off, I am excited that there is an increased awareness about how important good gut flora is and how probiotics help this! Second, in my personal opinion, I think the optimum way to obtain the best probiotics is through food sources daily. Things like raw sauerkraut, fermented veggies, organic yogurts, kefirs, and kombuchas. If these foods sound disgusting to you, choose a probiotic supplement with at least 50 billion CFU per serving. Interestingly enough, 1 tablespoon of raw sauerkraut has as much probiotics in it as a whole bottle of pill-form probiotics.
