The nice weather is upon us. The kids are almost out of school. This means fun-in-the-sun and daylong activities. We are all pretty much aware of the basic essentials needed for such events: real good sunscreen, equally good – if not better – bug repellent, sunglasses, plenty of water, first-aid kit, etc., etc. However, there is always the possibility that there are things that we do not think about, or simply forget. For instance, if you’re taking food with you on a summer adventure, make sure to avoid items that are sensitive to temperature; also making sure that all food is properly prepared, stored, and protected from exposure to the elements. Watch out and be prepared for things such as bee stings and poisonous plants.
