The night before 9/11, I was alone working late in our retail store when someone tried to break in. I was terrified and called the police as I hid behind the sale counter. Kevin happened to be in Denver attending a Monday Night Football Game, so I called one of our store managers and had her on the phone with me until the police got there. After the police handled the situation, I went home and to bed only to be woke up early by my father telling me of the attack on the World Trade Center. I immediately called our store manager again and told her We are being attacked. She was totally confused because she had not heard the news yet of the terrorist attacks and thought I was talking about someone else breaking into our store. Ill never forget the horror and despair I felt for days watching the events unfold on TV. I will also never forget watching our country unite and rally. It was our generations version of Pearl Harbor and now I understand why they Never forget, nor shall I.
