The night before Maria had to leave it stopped raining so we - TopicsExpress

The night before Maria had to leave it stopped raining so we drove, rather than hiked up to the swing above the village. Which usually offers beautiful views however, being so close to sunset at almost 11:00 when the sun dips behind the mountains, still very light but not bright enough to light up the valley below. She had the next morning fee before having to jump on the bus for the five hour ride down to Anchorage, so we drop about 20 miles south to The Denali Park Highway. Not to be confused with the 92 mile road into The Denali National Park. This is a 137 mile dirt road running east which connects to the other side of what is essentially one big loop, the major portion of highways in central Alaska. We drove down the highway for about twenty miles, enjoying vistas of mountains and valleys shadowed by the sun shining thru a party cloudy sky. I thought for sure we would see a moose while looking over many square miles of open land, as Marai still has not yet seen one, but it was not to be. She keeps saying she is jinxed, maybe not or maybe that is what did it. Her adventure ended too soon as for most; there are so many beautiful places to enjoy. But she takes with her many great memories and pictures with her mother and I, a metal and great time in a half marathon, hikes, a bus ride 66 miles into the park, and all the animals she saw, along with the rugged beauty of Alaska. https://plus.google/photos/102834994215679768101/albums/6030217553369283665
