The nights racing events at Angola Motorsport Speedway once again started off by seeing just what Mother Nature had in store. After a few light sprinkles and a quick shower, the full nights program was able to be ran and seen by all in attendance. Saturday Night was $20 Carload Night and the Michael Ross Memorial. The 41 lap Smith Enterprises Mini Stock feature had a strong field of 17 taking the green flag. Fast Qualifier Nick Spears was unable to make the feature due to mechanical issues. The Glenbrook Hyundai heat race winners were Dan Foulk and Terry Lake. Last weeks Mini Stock Challenge feature winner Bobby Stremme came back to try his luck again. After coming off a win in the heat race, Dan Foulk who is currently 2nd in point spun but managed to race back thru the field and finish 6th. Bobby Stremme made a quick visit to the pits during a red flag on the track while Angola Motorsport Speedway Safety Team cleaned up fluid on the track from a 3 car accident. Current points leader Kyle Moonen made contact with the Manns as he was lapping him but maintains his spot on the restart and finishes 3rd. Mike Mast made his way to the Tri State Line-X Winners Circle followed by Tink, Moonen, and Stremme. The Great Lakes Super Mini Cups made their second visit to AMS this season. Darren Bohne was Fast Qualifier, and your heat race winners were Stephanie Hile and Bohne. In the feature Bohne tried to make it a clean sweep for the night but wound up second behind Morgan Baird. Elliott Pritchett was forth followed by Hile and Jonathan Sattison. The Randy’s Trannys Plus Street Stocks Fast Qualifier was Jeff Shelmadine who went on to capture another win and visit to the Tri State Line-X Winners Circle. The Glenbrook Hyundai heat race winners were Cam Schoeck and Troy Moyer. Shelmadine was followed by Schoeck, Moyer, Chad Minnix, and Tanner Tallarico. The Superior Auto Modifieds had Jason Timmerman as Fast Qualifier. The Timmerman Brothers have been a dominate force on a weekly basis with Aaron Timmerman taking home his first ever modified feature win at last weeks Stan Perry Memorial. This however wasn’t their week with Jason pulling off early due to mechanical issues and Aaron finishing 6th. Currently 3rd in points, Mike Murphy made hard contact with the wall in his heat race and was done for the night. The Glenbrook Hyundai heat race winners were Darwin Wolfe and Scott Moyer. At the end of the night it was Jonathan Martin in Tri State Line-X Winners Circle followed by Wolfe, Erik Schaeffer, Zach Henderson, and Ralph Baxter. Wrapping up the night was the Shepherd’s Chevy, Buick, GMC Late Model Sportsman with 13 drivers set to go 25 laps. Tommy Little was Fast Qualifier with J.J. Haley and Mike Kugler the Glenbrook Hyundia heat race winners. Kale Asztalos was determined to finish strong and was eyeing the win after a couple of tough weeks but ended up second behind the young Haley. Jason Timmerman was third, followed by Kugler and Little. Next week at Angola Motorsport Speedway it is Mid Season Championships presented by Klotz Synthetic Lubricants. All 5 Klotz Championship Series classes will be racing, along with an on track Autograph session with the Drivers at 6pm!! General Admission is $12 (10 & Under Free) Pit Passes $25 (2 & Under Free).
