The nominees for the 7th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) were announced today including two nominations for Kurdish western MY SWEET PEPPER LAND. Kurdish director Hiner Saleem has been nominated for Achievement in Directing, and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani for Best Performance by an Actress. My Sweet Pepper Land was nominated for the Un Certain Regard Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and was awarded the Gold Hugo Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival. The film will also screen this week as part of the Brisbane International Film Festival. The 2013 Asia Pacific Screen Awards ceremony will be held in Brisbanes historic City Hall on Thursday 12 December at a glittering event, with nominees and industry luminaries in attendance.
