The only horse ever to win the Group 1 triple of Australian Cup, Ranvet and BMW Stakes in the same season, Manighar placed just twice from 15 starts since his last win in 2012. He last raced when finishing sixth in the Grade III Valedictory Stakes at Woodbine in Canada. We will retire Manighar, which will give us great pleasure and joy, Earle Mack, who campaigned the gelding in partnership with OTI Racing in Australia told Brisnet. Now a nine-year-old, Manighar began his career in France for his breeder HH the Aga Khan where he won the 2009 Group II Prix Chaudenay before Mack and OTI purchased him in 2010. Mack said no firm plan for the future career for Manighar has been made.
