The only problem I see to this is that more often than not now both parents have to work just to keep a roof over the familys head - in past generations mum stayed at home and there were mums and grandmas all along the street that were there to look out for the neighbourhood kids. To allow more play and less school we need to bring back a sense of community where we are all responsible for eachother and we have all but irradicated that over the past two generations. Something definitely needs to be done though, we have no way of knowing quite how much damage we are causing to future generations by withdrawing their opportunities to learn through life!
