The other allegation against the AFN leadership is that it does not invite some coaches to camp preparatory to travelling out even though they have produced some of the athletes invited to such camps. Conversely,coaches who have no athletes invited to camp are invited to camp and selected to travel. What was the trend before this board of Ogba and co? The above matter brings in the issue of personal coaches - in my time there was nothing like personal coaches. Coaches were invited from the States based on their experience in particular events. The coaches were mainly Sport Council coaches. There was no partiality or discrimination on account of where the President came from. Is this why we are not producing world beaters? Mind you,it was what was available that the invited coaches worked with and on. Usually many athletes would improve in National camps because of the quality of the coaching ,better feeding and rest. We must ask the question how our athletes are faring in their States and clubs?
