The pain is so bad it is unbelievable. What she did to his solar plexus this time seems diabolical, like she is suddenly some evil mastermind who foresaw what it would do to him if she carved that open all night last night. It has been a hideous day, and he has gone over the edge in a lot of ways now. It is understandable that he is losing control over himself because of the pain she is inflicting on him, and the incredible stress of the scary things she tells him and does to him all the time. He has just broken under this pressure, and he loses his sanity completely sometimes and believes I am the one hurting him. He gets really angry that I am not suffering like he is, which has been the source of her anger for months now. The game each day is that she compares herself to me, including the food she has to eat, whether she is allowed to go outside and whether I am, whether her bed and her clothes are as clean as mine, whether each of us has adorable and adoring cats who are affectionate and playful, which of us is smarter, whose hair looks better, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum. He says he also finds that he compares himself to me and gets really angry, and that this is also something she helps bring about by talking to him nonstop about all the ways he should be angry at me. It does not usually work because he sees how ridiculous she looks when she does these comparisons all the time and screeches about how unfair it all is and how he could take those things away from me and how he better right now if he does not want to suffer excruciating pain.
