The poet asks who is yours... Special People There are a few special people that really care There number is small but they are there With the sick their lives they share They help those in chronic pain And by their side they will remain They often get no thanks at all Despite answering every beck and call They help them with their daily lives And watch each day as they strive Their only wish is to ease the pain And hope they lead full lives again They do their best to understand As they help and lend a hand In every action or thing they do They show that they really care for you So if you have someone in your life It may be child husband or wife It may be friends on which you rely Those that hold your hand when you cry Take time today as you manage your pain To look around and see again Those that are standing close and near Those that you hold very dear It may be that a smile would do Or a held hand that comes from you Just let them know how you feel They see your pain they know it’s real It maybe that it’s your pet that matters A cat a dog or parrot that chatters They still share your pain with you So an extra treat or hug will do If you say very little at all just two simple words will do Just turn to them and say “thank you” It will mean the world to them Those special people, pets, wives, children and men ©Terry Haslett facebook/Fibrolight
