The police in Mmakau east of Brits are investigating a case of attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives. This followed after three men who were relaxing around fire nearly died after their neighbour threw a mine explosive (detonator) in their fire. The incident happened this morning Sunday 30 June 2013 at about 01:30 at Tshwana Section, Mmakau. � It is alleged that the three ages between 28 and 56 were enjoying fire outside their shack when the suspect who is their neighbour arrived and allegedly threw the detonator into the fire. � All four of them survived with serious facial and bodily burns due to the explosive device. The four including the suspect were taken to Brits hospital whereupon arrival he was transferred to George Mukhari Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa where he is in a serious condition after sustaining third degree burn wounds. �The other three are still admitted at Brits Hospital on serious but stable conditions. � On a follow up investigations police found another detonator at the suspect house. It is alleged that the suspect is working for an unconfirmed company trading in granite stones at the nearby quarries. �The device which is believed to be used for crushing stones, is suspected to have been stolen from the suspect�s work place. The suspect is expected to be charged with Attempted Murder and Illegal Possession of Explosives as soon as he is released from the hospital.
