The powers that be who have decided to take away many of our free events here in the Bay. Not only were these events great for community spirit and wonderful days of celebration, they were also terrific opportunities for our local talent to be showcased not only to other locals but also to tourists. Also as a stall holder, I am now facing a huge loss in income...unless I take my market stall elsewhere which will mean my business (ie. my coffee, petrol, lunch etc) will be supporting a different town rather our local businesses. I know that I am not the only stall holder that is seriously contemplating taking my wears out of town.....I wonder if those making the decisions have thought about the bigger picture and the impact on local economy? The decision has also been made to have the insurance provided my the Arts Council stripped back to only cover their events....in effect I will be down to only 2 markets per month unless I can magically find the money to get public liability elsewhere. I am gutted. :-(
