The prison tour with Monica Ray was amazing to say the very least! A huge thanks to Joan Hayes for inviting us! We all have our own opinions on the judicial system and just like everything else mine is always different. Lol I have a different perspective on the entire situation, maybe because i know people who are doing time or maybe because of the people i grew up with and the things i have seen. At the end of the day these people are just that.. people.. we all have our own chance at life, make our own decisions go down our own paths but ive seen people that didnt have a chance in hell! While there are people that are guided through life and taught empathy and compassion there are others that arent! When you consider the upbringing and the surroundings they all had it makes you look at them differently! The juveniles in that facility may have made irresponsible decisions but this is the beginning of their lives and what are they being taught in there? The way of the institution! A drug dealer who was taught to sell to survive will be contained with a murderer or a child rapist etc.. the recidivism rate these days is high because that is all they know and while most of us who have loved ones who are in prison would like to believe that they will come home and be the person they were before, reality proves different! Make your decisions wisely folks and while your looking at offenders and ex offenders humble yourself, take a step back and think what if the decision that they made was something that they felt was their only choice!
