The privatisation of education has failed to bring quality in education is a proved fact. The greedy private institutions do not get students as the quality students prefer government institutions for engineering education. Left with no students, and accumulated losses from year to year, the colleges in maharashtra have applied for closure to University. There wont be much takers for the infrastructure of these institutions. The Government of Maharashtra (bjp) has decided to extend its helping hands to these greedy guys, by purchasing these colleges and converting it into Government Engineering Colleges. The reason told is the Government is giving subsidy to SC ST OBC students of these colleges in fees. When there were no students the government was paying subsidy to whom. Either the private management was allowed to cheat the government by fabricated students statistics, or the Government has come out a bail out packages by its take over bid. The Government which did not have money to commence fresh government engineering colleges, and decided to privatise it, has money to buy these colleges now to bail out the private owners of these colleges.
