The problem with this country is that good causes are taken up as temporary social fads. When the time-frame for a fad ends, we forget about that cause until it comes up again next year. Breast cancer awareness is hip in October. People wear pink for most of the month, news stations tell happy-ending stories, and everyone celebrates saving boobs. Then when November 1st hits, the vast majority of the country has completely moved on. Its an absurd practice. So in the spirit of Veterans Day, please remember that service to the country deserves to be remembered by more than a fad. Thank a veteran whenever you get the chance, regardless of the time of year.
