The question is whether you want equality, or if you want the - TopicsExpress

The question is whether you want equality, or if you want the illusion of equality. But lets face it: not every man can do what every woman can do, and vice-versa. Even men and women as individuals cant do everything the next person can. Whether its a physical or psychological difference, not everyone is capable of the same things. Thats not to say that I dont think everyone should have the chance to do what they want, because they should. But everyone should have the same chance. No disrespect intended, I appreciate every person in the military and civil services. But (just as an example) its not equal that women can have less physically demanding prerequisites to be in the military or a firefighter, etc. Admit it or not, but that is showing an inequality of men and women. It doesnt make sense to call something equality that clearly isnt. As I said, everyone should have an equal chance. That doesnt mean it will be fair; some people are naturally smarter, stronger, or more creative than others. That gives them an advantage from the get go. The only way to level the playing field would be to raise prerequisites based on abilities. Which would then again effectively render the idea of equality false. Just some late night thoughts. The point is, if youre going to push for equality, make sure it is for actual equality. If you have something to say, please keep it civil and rational. I have no interest in starting a fight nor will I engage in one.
